ESD Bench Matting

This anti-static mat from RS offers great value for money with this bench mat made from anti-static – conductive – and static-dissipative materials in synthetic rubber.
The 3-layer construction houses a conductive layer between two static-dissipative layers which conforms to ESD S20.20 and EN 61340-5-1 ESD. This ESD mat measures 1200 x 600 x 3 mm. The bench mats are supplied with a 10 mm studs.

Why is it important to be ESD safe?

ESD safe mats help to create an ESD protected area (EPA). This is a defined space where all surfaces, objects, people and ESD Sensitive Devices (ESDs) are kept at the same electrical potential. This is achieved by using anti-static materials such as rubber. The mats can be used on your worktop bench or the floor. You can also use ESD safe gloves and ESD safe footwear to ensure optimum personal grounding and protection. It's important to create an EPA because electrostatic discharge can cause safety issues and damage your electrical components.
